Gonzalez, M.S., a nationally recognized expert in disability policy and systems change, our work empowers communities, transforms programs, and builds sustainable pathways to competitive integrated employment across the country.

Believing in the potential of all individuals to contribute, engage and thrive in their communities, Amy M. Gonzalez, M.S., has dedicated her career to the socioeconomic advancement of individuals with disabilities, taking on various roles in the areas of direct service provision, program implementation, and policy development.

For the first eleven years of her career, Amy served in several positions as a direct support professional working primarily with the Hispanic population. Her experience in direct service includes working at an American Job Center with at-risk youth and providing Vocational Rehabilitation services to Texans with disabilities through extensive job development, coaching and employer negotiation to help clients achieve employment goals.

Later in her career, Amy transferred her direct support experience to advise political leaders at both the state and federal levels on systems-change efforts to improve employment outcomes among the disability population. A nationally recognized expert in the field, Amy has worked across an array of publicly financed service delivery systems, providing her a holistic understanding of the barriers that people with disabilities face in various aspects of society and the challenges they commonly experience in navigating the myriad of state and federal policies, eligibility requirements, disparities in service provision, and reimbursement limitations. In 2019, Amy transitioned from being a federal official to establishing her own consulting firm.
Mrs. Gonzalez is the Founder and Principal of AMG Consulting, LLC, a disability public policy consultation agency that provides technical assistance to a broad range of clients aimed at increasing CIE outcomes for individuals with varying disabilities through policy, practice, and high-impact engagement.

Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. Amy currently serves in voluntary leadership positions, including being a board member of the Washington Initiative for Supported Employment (WISE), where she contributes to the advancement of Washingtonians with disabilities in CIE.
